Does the play or swing set need to be painted or sealed?Beach playsets uses the highest quality pressure treated lumber. However, in order to ensure your playset lasts for the long haul, our industry recommends sealing or painting within the first 3-6 months and every subsequent 2 years. As part of our stress-free plan, this option can be added onto your build, to include a annual/bi-annual maintenance plan.
-
Are your swing/playsets customizable?Absolutely! The reason we are different is that we offer our no-fee/stress in-home design consultation in order to create the perfect scenario for you and your young ones. Further, if you want to add elements in the future as your little ones grow, we can discuss and design that as well.
-
How are the swing/playsets manufactured? All of our sets are made in the U.S.A. We work with suppliers that are always manufacturing so stock levels remain high! We’re not just cutting the wood and sending it to you. We prep, sand, route, and pre-drill ALL the pieces before it's even brought to you. We even pre-building most of the annoying parts, like the Fort walls and floors so your installation will be quick and transparent.
-
How long will the swing/playset last?If you take good care of the set, meaning you reseal or paint the wood at least every 2 years, the swing set will last 20+ years. The wood will still go through its natural aging process, but will still be good and strong.
-
Why does my wood appear to be splitting or have cracks?Wood intended for outdoor use will develop cracks. The process of wood cracking is called "wood checking". The checks will develop on the surface of the wood as a result of the natural tendency of wood to absorb moisture and then dry out again causing separation of the wood fibers. It is part of the weathering process of all wood exposed to the elements. You will see this same checking process in any outdoor wood surface (like decks). Checking affects the appearance of the wood but not the strength of the wood. As a general rule, if you cannot insert a piece of paper one inch into the wood on a swing beam for example, the integrity of the wood is not compromised.
